Aperture
This machine is a multi-user GNU/Linux shell server that was named
after both Valve's Aperture Science and the Aperture Research Facility
from The Life Outside Known Space,
a series that Anton has been writing in his spare time since 2021,
hence the home page image/icon. The image is of a lake, since the
facility is canonically located under the lake. The overall aperture
project itself was initially started as an unnamed hosting service on
21 November 2014 as a shared server for web hosting, with file storage
being added at an unrecorded point in 2015, and e-mailing at an
unrecorded point in 2017. As of this page load, aperture is
days old. The domain name presumed.net
was acquired by Anton on 2 November 2023 since he saw an available
verb domain name that he liked, with the added bonus of it being only
a single word. Friends of Anton may be able to ask for a subdomain
(example.presumed.net), with either subsubdomains
(www.example.presumed.net) or an optional wildcard record
(*.example.presumed.net), if they wish to do so. All you need to do
is ask! As of this page load, presumed.net is
days old.
